Nevermet Press’ “The Desire” On Sale!

The Desire is Nevermet Press’ first content cycle, cleaned up and put into a PDF with all sorts of specials. The design philosophy (or one can say, lack thereof) for this cycle was to create a central character and let numerous authors have a go at her and interpret her in different ways. The PDF is primarily geared towards 4e, but it shouldn’t be difficult to fit the content to your fantasy game of choice. In fact for D&D 3.5 it’s rather simple to just have The Desire be a 10th level Sorceress, with access to Dominate Person (a 5th level spell), Charm Person and Charm Monster (1st and 4th level spells respectively).

For $9.95 you get stats for the Desire (go me!) and some subordinates (the Deadly Nymph and two minions at the start were also my joyous handiwork!); a guide to the grand city of Highcourt, including a lovely map by Paul King; three encounters for D&D 4th Edition, including more new creatures and traps; a number of organizations to use in a game based around The Desire; and even a smidgen of player content. The encounters include maps, and there is also some nice artwork by Danny Rupp, Rob Torno and much more! There’s also a (save ends) encounter power in one of the player options but we can forgive. Call now, and we’ll double your order, giving you a printer friendly version ABSOLUTELY FREE. You should also check out Twitter and Facebook for CRAZY JON’S CRAZY DEALS man that Jacobs fellow is INSANE.

So if you ever thought “man that Wyatt is such a nice guy, I wish I could buy him a beer” then know that I don’t drink, but if you want to buy me a soft drink, you can buy this book, and that will get me enough for that soft drink. And maybe some chips.

NMP Distributed Workshop: Neirave, The Sleepless Drift

This is my Distributed Workshop for the latest cycle, Neirave. It’s meant to be Neirave and a few creatures and intended as a sort of Hard Encounter kit for a party of Five level 9 PCs using the DMG guidelines. Neirave’s defenses are lower than they should be – this is because despite being a Solo, she is meant to be accompanied. Her hit points are pretty large as well and she and all her allies can recover hit points if they are near to her, so the defenses were lowered in order to compensate for these. Increase her defenses by +3 or +4 if using her alone, except her Will Defense, which is already topped out.

My first NMP villain!

Today, the Sleepless Drift, Neirave went live at NMP with some nice art by James Keegan. This was my first villain submission to NMP for their portrait of a villain series and I was very happy to see it accepted. We have lots of awesome articles coming up for it, and I hope you stick around for them. I will be writing D&D 4th Edition stats for her and some frosty critters that will go up around Thursday, so stay tuned for that as well. So yeah, enjoy, and thanks to NMP for the opportunity!

Wyatt debuts on Nevermet Press!

I’m rather excited since today, my first real piece on the Nevermet Press web site has been put up for everyone to see. I’m really pleased with it, and the awesome art by Rob Torno. So please go check it out here and maybe leave a comment – here, I mean, since you can’t comment over there. But maybe you can discuss it on the NMP forums! I think? Is anyone there yet? Doesn’t really look like it, yet. But we do have forums! Not only that, we do intend for people to use them! So I think you might as well start, y’know? You could be the very first one. (Don’t take my word for it.)

I’m looking forward to late in August, where I have some more stuff coming to NMP.

[NMP] The Desire 4e, Distributed Workshop

At Nevermet Press, we have this thing called Distributed Workshops, where blogs can write stats for the system-neutral things in Nevermet Press’ content to be played with your favorite system. I’m one of the 4e guys doing these for NMP, and when I first saw The Desire, I could only think of my own love for mind control.

I love the Domination effect in D&D 4th Edition, and I love monsters that play around with it. It’s annoying the players however, so there has to be a balance, where Domination is not done so much that a player feels utterly shafted out of his or her character. So without further ado, I wrote some stats for The Desire, the first NMP villain, and a very special henchwoman.

Unlike most D&D 4e human monsters, the Knowledge for these two is gained using Streetwise rather than Nature.
