The Feats of Eden I: Weapons
Posted: August 31, 2009 Filed under: D&D 4e, Homebrew, Houserules, RPG, Spirits Of Eden 1 Comment »New material is actually coming soon, I promise. Until then though, here’s a bit of story. The Feats of Eden page has actually undergone a hell of a lot of occluded work the past few weeks. Because it was never posted as a separate post, thus never showed on the network (it’s a page) or on the front page, it’s gone by with a whimper basically.
Until I’m set to unveil some new stuff, I will post selections from the Feats of Eden page, so people can find out that, yes, there is a Feats of Eden page, and holy crap, it is utterly massive! We’ll also get to see some developer commentary from me, because you can’t get enough of that stuff, I know.

The professionalism of this review will once again be undercut by random images. I wouldn't have it any other way.
NMP Distributed Workshop: Neirave, The Sleepless Drift
Posted: August 20, 2009 Filed under: D&D 4e, Nevermet Press, RPG 1 Comment »This is my Distributed Workshop for the latest cycle, Neirave. It’s meant to be Neirave and a few creatures and intended as a sort of Hard Encounter kit for a party of Five level 9 PCs using the DMG guidelines. Neirave’s defenses are lower than they should be – this is because despite being a Solo, she is meant to be accompanied. Her hit points are pretty large as well and she and all her allies can recover hit points if they are near to her, so the defenses were lowered in order to compensate for these. Increase her defenses by +3 or +4 if using her alone, except her Will Defense, which is already topped out.

My first NMP villain!
Posted: August 17, 2009 Filed under: Fluff/Inspiration, Nevermet Press, News, NPCs, RPG 1 Comment »Today, the Sleepless Drift, Neirave went live at NMP with some nice art by James Keegan. This was my first villain submission to NMP for their portrait of a villain series and I was very happy to see it accepted. We have lots of awesome articles coming up for it, and I hope you stick around for them. I will be writing D&D 4th Edition stats for her and some frosty critters that will go up around Thursday, so stay tuned for that as well. So yeah, enjoy, and thanks to NMP for the opportunity!
Karma, Fate and the Spirits of Eden
Posted: August 16, 2009 Filed under: Campaigns, D&D 4e, Fluff/Inspiration, NPCs, RPG, Spirits Of Eden 3 Comments »When the final fires of the Last Cataclysm died down and the monumental task of rebuilding the world, of stopping the earthquakes, calming the seas, mending the skies, taming the winds, the foremost thing on all of their minds was how to stop this from happening anew. The Spirits at this point were at their most primeval and almost mindless.
Slowly they gained new consciousness as man did after the Cataclysm – this was an effect of the essence flow around them that no subjugating force Fate could muster would ever deny them. With this consciousness came the realization that there seemed to be no way of controlling mankind. Soon they would find another way to cause another cataclysm – inadvertently or not. If it had happened before, it was doomed to happen again.
But the Spirits knew not that structures in the world were already in place, woven by the unseen strands of creation and the unseen hands of the world itself, that were tasked with keeping a delicate, unseen order that would help prevent or slow more destruction. Not only among people, but among the Spirits themselves.
Whenever a die is rolled, people call it luck. Fortune, randomness, odds, are all just one small part of the structure in place that both gives everyone a fair chance, a fair reward, and anyone a fair punishment – Karma.
